We are seeking an exceptional Pastry Chef to join the team at New York’s most awarded four-season resort casino. Key Responsibilities

Create High-Quality Desserts

  • Design and prepare a wide variety of pastries, baked goods, and desserts that align with the resort’s luxury standards.
  • Develop innovative dessert menus and seasonal offerings to surprise and delight our guests.
  • Ensure consistent presentation and taste for all pastry items.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of pastry cooks and assistants.
  • Oversee scheduling, performance management, and ongoing training for the pastry team.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the kitchen.

Health, Safety, and Sanitation

  • Enforce strict compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and sanitation protocols.
  • Always maintain a clean and organized pastry kitchen.

Cross Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with the culinary, banquet, and events teams to create custom desserts for special occasions, such as weddings, conferences, and VIP events.
  • Partner with procurement staff to source the finest ingredients, while monitoring costs and managing waste.

Operational Oversight

  • Manage inventory and ensure the availability of essential ingredients and materials.
  • Assist in budgeting, food cost control, and adherence to established financial goals.
  • Implement systems to ensure efficiency in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

  • A degree or certification in baking, pastry arts, or related culinary discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Pastry Chef, including leadership in a luxury, high-volume setting.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional and modern pastry techniques, with an eye for detail and creativity.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to balance conflicting priorities.
  • Experience in managing and developing teams of culinary professionals.
  • A commitment to upholding and exceeding health and safety standards in the workplace.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a large, dynamic team.
