Job Description

Technical Writer

Location: REMOTE (must be able to work EST or CST hours)

Duration: ongoing contract

Pay rate: $25-$35/hr

Overview:

Our company has a network visibility and security intelligence product used to protect enterprises against today’s top threats. By analyzing NetFlow, IPFIX, and other types of network telemetry, our system delivers context-aware security analytics to quickly detect a wide range of attacks from APTs and DDoS to zero-day malware and insider threats. Combining continuous lateral monitoring across enterprise networks with user, device, and application awareness, we accelerate incident response, improve forensic investigations, and reduce enterprise risk.

We’re looking for a technical writer with a passion for content experience to join our team. We write the UX content, in-product help, technical documentation, and communications to support our customers in every phase of their product experience.

Required:

  • Bachelors + 2 years of related experience, or 4 years of experience in technical communications.
  • Experience drafting, editing, and validating content according to content strategy and guidelines.
  • Experience working in a software development environment.
  • The ability to learn about new products, technologies, and tools quickly.
  • Creative and critical thinking skills to help solve internal and customer problems.
  • Excellent communications skills for gathering information, collaborating with various teams, and presenting your ideas.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with contemporary development methods such as single-source documentation, continuous integration, and version control.
  • Experience developing UX content for a product UI or website.
