Position: Process Operator

Primary Location: Mount Vernon, WA

Schedule: 3am-11am (M-F)

Reports to: Plant Manager

Compensation: $30.90/hr, non-exempt

About This Role and You

The scope of this job is being diverse in the ability to perform general operational plant duties; performances include observing tank truck loading and unloading, and pump operations. Inspecting piping, valves, and maintaining plant upkeep by performing regular PMs. Provide personnel coverage as needed (excluding Operator C level).

*The primary responsibilities of the Process Operator are to:

  • Achieve training to gain knowledge for operating Sulfur Prilling and Emulsified Sulfur Plants.

  • Monitor, mix and control product/process.

  • Achieve training to operate cooling towers, heat exchangers pumps, mixers, conveyors system, bucket elevators.

  • Monitor steam pressure, temperature, and boiler operation.

  • Achieve training in general plant maintenance.

  • Assist operation of Sulfur Prilling Plant 50%

  • Assist operation of Emulsified Sulfur Plant 5%

  • General Plant Maintenance 10%

  • Operate Forklift 10%

  • Operate Wheel Loaders 10%

  • Oversee and assist loading Emulsified Sulfur 15%

**Qualifications

**

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.

  • High degree of mechanical aptitude and skills required.

  • Previous maintenance experience required.

  • Must have an understanding of units of weights and measures.

  • Works well under direction and follows established procedures.

  • Forklift and wheel loader experience preferred.

  • Experience working in an industrial environment preferred.

  • Must be able to read and write in English.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision.

  • Must be “fit for duty”.

Must be able to perform under the following conditions: 

  • Work in awkward or confining workspaces.

  • Work in elevated places.

  • Work in outdoor environment.

  • Work in noisy environment.

  • Work in areas that are dusty and have some odor from chemicals and etc.

  • Safety is a job requirement.

  • Able to work in adverse weather conditions.

Medical Requirement
