We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Senior Project Accountant - CPA with a solid background in the construction industry. As a crucial member of our finance team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of our projects. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Project Accountant - CPA, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial and accounting duties. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing the financial management of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
2. Preparing and analyzing monthly AIA billing and Construction WIP reports.
3. Managing job costing procedures and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all job cost reports.
4. Processing T&M billings and performing monthly reconciliations.
5. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
6. Utilizing Sage, Vista Viewpoint, and Timberline software for project accounting and reporting.
7. Collaborating with project managers and other team members to ensure financial transparency and accuracy.
8. Assisting with audits and providing necessary documentation and explanations for auditors.
9. Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance.
10. Providing guidance and training to junior staff members.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Project Accountant - CPA position will possess the following qualifications:
1. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting or a related field in the construction industry.
3. Extensive experience with AIA billing, Job Costing, T&M, and Construction WIP.
4. Proficiency in using Sage, Vista Viewpoint, and Timberline accounting software.
5. Prior experience in public accounting is highly desirable.
6. Exceptional analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make sound decisions.
10. A team player mentality, with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
