Job Description

Our ideal candidate will have a background/experience in custom automation engineering, concepting, and be able to research and quote concepts for our customers. Being a creative problem solver, have the ability to communicate with staff and customers on quoted concepts and dive into quoting concepts are a must.

Major Accountabilities:

• Prepares estimates by projecting the costs associated with a project or machine, with an emphasis on accuracy and ensuring profitability of projects.
• Visits customers and provides technical support to sales to facilitate closing business.
• Provides documentation that will support the estimate.
• Provide an accurate description of quoted concepts and attend contract review and acceptance meetings, if appropriate.
• Generates or assists engineering with the conceptual design of a project or machine.
• Communicates with vendors and customers and all levels of staff.
• Maintains and make recommendations for improvements to estimating procedures and methods.

Basic Requirements:

• Actual machine design experience in either custom machine building or the AUTOMATION industry minimum of 7 to 10 years
• Demonstrated ability to to interact with customers and verbally express themselves
• Demonstrate ability to write or at least desire to learn to write documents that are concise, readable, succinct, and informative
• Experience or demonstrated ability to interact with vendors to successfully procure equipment, quotes
• Experience with robotics and/or experience with ancillary equipment, such as bowl feeders, palletizers, stretch wrappers, cartoners and other bulk handling equipment
