Job Description

As Regional Director you will be responsible for the overall strategy, commercial development, and operational performance of a leading global Logistics Service provider. Through the principles of operational excellence, you will plan and orchestrate an ongoing process which produces a clear, compelling, and competitive vision for success. The role must have a dedicated focus on the commercial levers which drive profitable growth, whilst engaging, inspiring, and developing an organization of talented professionals in a highly dynamic and competitive market environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operations, including Air & Ocean freight, Transportation and Warehousing and all supporting business activities to ensure increased profitability, productivity, and market share.
  • Develop high quality business and operating plan, and operating budget, based on overall business strategy, plan and budget.
  • Make high-quality investing decisions to advance the business and increase profits.
  • Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements.
  • Support standardization, transformation and a KPI driven culture to optimize efficiencies and control costs.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actions to achieve measurable and sustainable results.
  • Take ownership to create and size business opportunities and launch new products or Services.
  • Build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as a point of contact for important stakeholders.
  • Be accountable for improving results by transforming organizational culture, systems, approaches and/or products/services.
  • Lead and motivate to advance employee engagement and develop highly performing and engaged teams.
  • Provide feedback, instruction, and development guidance to help others excel
  • Ensure the company follows all local and internationally required regulatory obligations.
  • Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics.

Experience

  • Experienced at Senior Director/MD/VP level gained within multinational Freight Management organization or Logistics Service Provider.

  • Highly experienced in profit and loss management, budgeting, and performance management principles.
  • Experienced in developing profitable strategies, implementing vision, and driving transformation.
  • Ability to build consensus and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, customers, and workforce.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress, and crisis situations.
  • Excellent communications and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree level education, ideally with a Freight Management qualification.
