What you'll do

The Process Automation Developer will design, build, and execute software robots using various automation tools and programming language. They will work with business units to create an optimized workflow process and assist with user acceptance testing. Additionally, they will provide ongoing support of deployed bots and resolve automation issues. This position may require on call and after hour work when necessary.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test automation workflows.
  • Understand automation technologies, processes and tools.
  • Deploy RPA components including bots, development tools, code repositories and logging tools.
  • Work with stakeholders to capture business requirements and translate them into technical approaches and designs that can be implemented.
  • Create and document test procedures and scenarios for the User Acceptance Testing phases and support the operational teams during the UAT and rollout phase.
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot and resolve automation issues that arise in the day-to-day running of automated processes and provide timely responses and solutions.
  • Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity of availability of automation systems and bots.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and business processes.
  • Develop, select and conduct user training on an as needed basis.
  • Utilize Agile principals and Scrum framework for automation development.
  • Create and maintain automation solution documentation.
  • Identify potential risk and lack of controls and suggest changes that will mitigate risk.
  • Exhibit support for the organization’s goals, values, initiatives and cost control.
  • Recommend and help develop and implement new policies and procedures. Ensure suggested changes adhere to all Canvas Credit Union policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements.
  • Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets.
  • Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of common business practices and process management.
  • Experience with automation software platforms and programing language such as UiPath, OpCon, Power Automate, Python, SFTP automation software, UC4, Appworks, T-SQL or the like.
  • Skills and experience in the following areas are desirable: financial institutions and data, familiarity with not-for-profit entities, and cost accounting principles.
  • Strong relationship building and teamwork skills with ability to develop and maintain consultative relationships with Canvas Credit Union staff.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude for new technology.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to maintain confidences.

Education or Formal Training: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Experience: 1+ years of automation experience; preferably in a credit union environment. Advanced knowledge of automation systems and demonstrated project management skills.

Other Important Information

Working Environment/Physical Activities

High volume, fast-paced, dynamic office environment with some travel. Must be able to attend meetings and events outside of regular business hours. The job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, fax machines and filing cabinets. The position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets. The position requires bending, stooping, or standing as necessary.
