Job Description

Community hospital part of a system looking to bring on Nurse Manager/Critical Care CVICU! Sign On Bonus and Relocation!

Summary:

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, delegating, directing, negotiating and evaluating services delivered by the Adult Critical Care departments and personnel based on the hospital mission, vision and facility goals.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with other department leadership personnel, for the functions and activities of nursing care performed in adult critical care in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards for the professional practice of nursing and administrative policies.
  • Maintains effective communication.
  • Develops and recommends policies, procedures or programs to improve or enhance the quality, safety, efficiency and/or effectiveness of patient care within the specialty area in collaboration with medical staff and other disciplines.

Additional Information:

  • Who does this position report to? Director of Critical Care & Med/Surg
  • Why is the position open? CVICU expansion, oversight requires two managers. New position.
  • How many total beds are in the unit? 7S - 28 beds (Old ICU 15 beds)
  • Volume: Expect to fill to capacity
  • How many FTEs will the candidate be overseeing? 40 staff. There are 73 total staff split between this role and the current Manager in the department. This role is a second Manager position for the department.
  • What additional departments are they over? ECMO staff
  • What are the qualities that leadership likes? Self-motivated, intelligent, gets along with peers, makes things happen.

Qualifications:

  • 4 Years of Recent (Within the last year) Acute care CVICU/ICU leadership experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required: advanced degree preferred.
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license required.
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider required.
  • Current America Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS provider required.
  • CCRN and/or CNRN preferred.
