SUMMARY: The Mental Health Provider will execute a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to effectively oversee mental health and social emotional programming for students at our Joshua School campuses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage the implementation of all mental health-related interventions for TJS students at the Englewood and Boulder campuses including developing evidence-based treatment plans, and supervising plan implementation in classrooms.
  • Collaborating with Directors, Lead Teachers and Specialists on integrating mental health services into existing treatment plans and IEPs.
  • Assist in the development of IEP goals and identification of curricula that relate to mental and social emotional health
  • Train TJS staff in data collection procedures and treatment implementation for all mental health interventions that are transferring to the classroom
  • Collaborate with TJS Parents in facilitating access to community supports and services
  • Enhance staff and parent knowledge of mental health issues through the development and delivery of dedicated trainings and workshops
  • Expand community knowledge of mental health issues amongst the ASD population through delivery of trainings and/or workshops at local, regional and national conferences
  • Provide support to staff for parent communication, and support to parents in conferences, meetings, or as needed.
  • Participate in enrollment and discharge of students to assess mental health needs
  • Participate in crisis management and physical interventions when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in a relevant field such as counseling, social work,or psychology
  • A minimum of 2 years working in applied settings with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • Plan, schedule and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Train, develop and supervise teachers, instructors and contracted service providers on providing mental health interventions
  • Work effectively with students, teachers, instructors and students support systems

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Colorado state license to provide mental health services (i.e., Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Holds a Colorado special service provider license or is currently eligible for one with the appropriate endorsement for this position.

Language Ability:

▪ Superior written and oral communication skills

▪ Ability to conduct meetings and trainings efficiently and effectively

Computer/Technical Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, Google Suite software and knowledge of data collection platform software.

This role operates in a classroom environment. This role routinely uses iPads, laptops, copy machines, walkie talkies. This job also requires driving staff and students into the community, interacting with community and vocational partners. This job involves activities with students and staff, including skiing, swimming, exercise routines, attending camp, and other active community outings. Extended or non-traditional work hours may sometimes be required. 20% local travel may be expected in this role. Noise level is low to loud. Staff should anticipate an environment that includes students in crisis (aggression, contact with bodily fluids, property destruction, screaming, self-injurious behavior).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift or carry up to 50 pounds, stand, run, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and sit in small chairs or on the floor. The employee is occasionally required to lift and carry up to 150 pounds, with help from another employee. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and use hands to manipulate large and small objects. The employee must be able to speak and hear (including whispers in loud environments). The employee must pass certification for verbal and physical crisis intervention training (Safety CAre). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
