Job Summary :
Responsible for providing general administrative support to OMIC’s Claims Department.
Responsibilities :
· Maintains the billing system, including processing bills to Accounting for payment, and accurately recording and balancing the claim payment files.
· Opens files in OASIS and sends correspondence out in claim files as requested by the Litigation Analysts.
· Responds to phone inquiries from insureds, attorneys, and physicians regarding claim services.
· Prepares and types general correspondence and reports to insureds. attorneys, and Senior Litigation Analysts in connection with malpractice claims, including the preparation and maintenance of all form letters, both in electronic and hard copy files
· Prepares, sends, and summarizes the Closed Claims Surveys.
· Prepares all files for final closure, completes courts checks. Attentive to detail and checks for compliance by completing the closed claims checklist.
· Assists the VP of Claims with use and maintenance of OASIS and Bottomline systems.
Requirements :
· High school graduate
· Familiarity with claims department computer programs and general office based software programs
· Good oral and written communication skills.
There are no benefits associated with this position and no paid time off, including holidays. This position will accrue sick time at a rate consistent with San Francisco’s ordinances, which is one hour of sick leave for every thirty hours worked.

Hourly rate: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour (15-20 hours per week)
