Job Title : Engineer IV - Rigid Paper & Closures Division

Location : Jackson, TN

Job Type : Full-time, On-site with Travel

Salary : $116,160 - $148,410/year + 7.5% annual target bonus

About the Role:

DSJ Global has partnered with a leader packaging manufacturer in searching for a dynamic Engineer IV to join their Rigid Paper and Closures Division. Based in Jackson, TN, this role provides engineering support across multiple plants and leads high-impact capital and automation projects. Travel can range from 50% to 70%, depending on project locations.

The Engineer IV will…

• Develop detailed project plans, cost estimates, and capital submissions.
• Lead technical projects including equipment installation, commissioning, and qualification.
• Evaluate and modernize manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and support production machinery, including PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, and vision systems.
• Drive automation initiatives using robotics, AGVs, and machine networking.
• Use Rockwell Automation software for PLC and HMI programming.
• Create layouts and electrical documentation using AutoCAD.
• Manage project budgets and procurement through Sonoco's purchasing system.
• Collaborate in engineering meetings to assess equipment and tooling designs.

The Engineer IV should have…

• Bachelor's degree, preferably with a focus in Engineering..
• 5+ years of experience in automation, robotics, and project management.
• Strong background in PLC controls, servo systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electromechanical systems.
• Proficiency in Rockwell Automation and AutoCAD.
• Experience with AGVs and high-speed manufacturing environments.
